Description

A contribution by Prof. Dr. Nadine Ijaz

Good research requires methods that are appropriate to the subject under investigation. In traditional, complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM), this poses a particular challenge, since its holistic approaches are often incompatible with established biomedical research models. The lecture presents the findings of a WHO-commissioned review of interdisciplinary research approaches that do justice to TCIM's particular knowledge systems and practices. It also addresses evidence pluralism, epistemic justice, and their significance for evidence-based decisions.

A contribution by Prof. Dr. Nadine Ijaz to the research conference “Holistic Medical Systems in Research” of the Medical Section in February 2026.
